Below you will be able to find answers to some of the most common questions that we get asked here at Townsend Jewellery Studios.

CAN I USE YOUR SERVICES IF I DON’T LIVE LOCALLY?

We have many jobs on the go at once with people who can’t physically be here so there are many ways we can go about this. We can arrange phone or conference call, post, meeting points etc. It does depend on what service you would like but if you want to discuss this please contact us.

CAN I GET MY JEWELLERY ENGRAVED WITH YOU?

Absolutely! Words, patterns or pictures. We can offer laser or hand engraving. Price and time does vary so please contact us if you wish to discuss options further.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HAVE SOMETHING BESPOKE MADE?

You can visit our steps on the bespoke process here but usually the process does take a few weeks. On average, around 3-6 weeks to be comfortable, find time to get together for appointments and to enjoy the experience fully however we have been known to make pieces in a matter of days if it is urgent. That is the advantage of having everything in house!

HOW MUCH WILL A BESPOKE JEWELLERY MAKE-UP/REMODEL COST ME?

The variety of designs, stones, sizes, metals is too vast for us to give you a quote straight away however after the first couple of appointments we will be able to give you an accurate quote as to how much your bespoke make-up would cost. You do not have to commit to anything before we give you the quote. Our customers are usually surprised by how affordable bespoke make-ups can be!

HOW MUCH WILL A REPAIR COST ME?

We will do any quotes or estimates free of charge at any time in person however price does vary hugely depending on the item and condition so this is an impossible question to answer. We cannot give quotes over the phone.

WHERE DO YOU KEEP MY JEWELLERY WHEN IT IS LEFT WITH YOU?

All items stay in our highly secure safes unless it is being worked on by our fully insured expert technicians.

IS EVERYTHING DONE ON YOUR PREMISES?

95% of work is done in house, on our premises unless we need to use our hall-markers as this is a legal requirement to be done by a government assay office. We do use highly skilled specialists for work such as engraving or stone cutting. Everything else is done here in our workshops that you can come and watch or even get your own hands dirty!

HOW LONG DO YOU HAVE TO KEEP MY JEWELLERY FOR WHEN VALUING IT?

We appreciate jewellery is very sentimental to many however we cannot value your items without fully assessing it. This is the case no matter where you go. On average we will need it for 2-3 weeks depending on the number of items but it will be 100% secure whilst it is with us and will be returned to you clean & shiny!
