after

Jewellery restorations can come in many forms without the complete recycling of the original piece. The process for our antique jewellery restorations depends entirely on the current state of the item in question. Our team only needs to provide a thorough clean and polish to remove scratches and dirt from the surface for most items. For other jewellery restorations, where the piece has sustained more extensive damage, our services may include:
Stone replacement
Stone polishing
Plating
Enamelling
Ring shank restoration
UK’s award winning 3D designer & Goldsmiths awards
IRV Certified
Everything is made in our own workshops in house
how it works

Firstly, our expert team will need to see the item and discuss our thoughts on the initial jewellery restoration services required.
We will complete a thorough condition report and detail how we aim to overcome any issues uncovered during our analysis. The condition report process can take up to 3 days, depending on the condition of the item provided for jewellery restoration.

The next step of the jewellery restoration process differs slightly depending on the services your piece requires. If a new stone or progress update is needed, for example, we may need to conduct a second appointment with you before proceeding with the jewellery restoration.
If a second appointment is not required, Townsends Jewellery Studio will contact you as soon as possible. Based on the findings of our expert restoration team, we’ll provide an accurate price quotation and an approximate time frame for completion.
If the process so far has met your standard, and you are happy with our quotation, we’ll move your item on to step 3.

After our team has completed the jewellery restoration within the agreed timeframe, your piece will be ready for collection via an appointment.
When you arrive back at Townsends Jewellery Studio, the team responsible for your restoration will discuss any changes and restorative measures applied to your jewellery. In addition, we make sure you’re aware of any future requirements or areas of concern to look out for in your piece.
After this point, the payment agreed upon for your jewellery restoration will be taken. You will be provided with a receipt alongside a 12-month guarantee that our restorative measures will be effective. If an issue does occur during that 12-month timeframe, contact us to explore your next steps. The length of this guarantee may vary depending on the condition of the item.
